Summary

The Morehouse College Glee Club, founded in 1911, has been internationally acclaimed for its rich tradition of performing a diverse repertoire, including standard classical choral literature, music of African American composers, and heritage music such as spirituals, work songs and African music. Its membership is comprised of from all over the United States and from places around the world. While many are music majors, our singers come from majors in all divisions of The College.

The Glee Club performs for official College functions, as well as many public performances, and they have toured cities all over the world including Russia, Poland, South Africa, and the Bahamas They sang at Atlanta’s Symphony Hall with soprano Jessye Norman in a concert celebrating the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, and performed the National Anthem with Natalie Cole for Super Bowl XXVIII. They participated with Stevie Wonder, Gloria Estefan and Trisha Yearwood in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games held in Atlanta and most recently performed at the dedication of the Dr. King Monument on the National Mall.
